In 1977, John Stites took a leap of faith that most young people today would never dream of doing. 

Fresh out of vocational training and only two years into his new job with Hasara Construction, he decided to buy into the company to become co-owner.  He’s been building at Hasara ever since.

In 1998, with the retirement of his long-time business partner, John assumed responsibility as sole owner. 

“At the end of the day,” explains John, “I always have something to show for the work that’s been put in.  Not everyone can say that about their jobs.”

“It’s my life’s work to build homes that people are proud of.  There’s nothing more rewarding than hearing someone say that they can’t wait to have their friends over to see the finished product.  If I can give them that sort of quality and also leave them saying that we were honest, hardworking and trustworthy, then I know we’ve done our jobs well.”

In 2004, residential and land development was added to John’s portfolio, with the designing of two popular Rochester subdivisions – Oak Mill Estates which is currently under development – and Foxboro Subdivision which is in planning stages and is anticipated to open for lot purchases in 2009.
